Vanpool

Many of us commute to our worksites in the Eugene/Springfield Metro area from outlying communities. The longer we spend in our cars every day, the greater the toll on our nerves, our wallets, and our environment. For many commuters, vanpooling can be a perfect solution.

Save Money-Reduce Stress

Vanpool participants save time and money on parking, gas, wear and tear on their car, and lower personal auto insurance bills. Vanpoolers advocate for the environment by reducing air pollution, traffic, and demand for roads and parking facilities. You’ll arrive at work safe, on time and relaxed. But the benefits don’t stop there. By vanpooling you can begin to use your commute time productively to catch up on your work, your sleep or the latest best seller.

What is a Vanpool?

A vanpool is a group of 5 to 15 people who live and work in the same geographical area and share the ride to work.

How Much Does it Cost?

Monthly fares are based on the lease cost (determined by the number of average monthly miles and the type and size of the van) and fuel expenses. Additionally, Valley VanPool provides a monthly subsidy to make the cost of ridership even more affordable. Monthly fares per rider generally run between $120 and $160 per month. The more riders in the van–the lower the cost!
